How do you signal a new era for a media powerhouse?
By refreshing the brand around the idea of connection.
PHD is a media agency within the Omnicom Media Group that leverages a blend of strategic and creative planning to move brands forward. As an established industry leader, PHD’s new mission is “Intelligence. Connected.,” a philosophy that combines data, technology, and human-centric principles to drive measurable outcomes.
Connection is the heartbeat of the PHD rebrand. We utilized the ambigram mark as an iterative framing device across multiple layouts, creating visual links that extend beyond the frame. PHD is known for its iconic purple so to maintain familiarity, we amped up the purple and paired it with a modern color palette that complements this bold brand. We further unified the identity with a custom typeface built directly from the logo’s foundational shapes.
This refreshed identity took center stage when PHD was named the 2024 Global Media Agency of the Year. To celebrate, we launched a global OOH and DOOH campaign, splashing the new look across high-profile locations including NYC’s Times Square, London, Italy, and Dubai.
